From fleshly warfare to spiritual warfare:

Matthew 26:

It is written: "Judas, one (of) the twelve, came. And with him (was a) large crowd from the chief-priests and elders (of) the people WITH SWORDS AND CLUBS" (Matthew 26:47), "And Jesus said (to) him, “Friend, (it is) for what you-are-here”. Then, having-come to (Him), they-put (their) hands on Jesus and seized Him. And behold, ONE (OF) THE (ONES) WITH JESUS, having-stretched-out (his) hand, WITHDREW HIS SWORD. AND HAVING-STRUCK THE SLAVE (OF) THE HIGH-PRIEST, HE-TOOK-OFF HIS EAR. Then Jesus says (to) him, “RETURN YOUR SWORD INTO ITS PLACE. FOR ALL THE (ONES) HAVING-TAKEN (THE) SWORD WILL-PERISH BY (THE) SWORD" (Matthew 26:50-52), and "Jesus said (to) the crowds, “Did-you-come-out to-arrest Me WITH SWORDS AND CLUBS as (if) against (a) robber? Every day I-was-sitting in the temple teaching, and YOU-DID NOT SEIZE ME" (Matthew 26:55).


Luke 4:

It is written that after Jesus spoke to people "they-were all filled (with) fury in the synagogue (while) hearing these (things). And having-arisen, they-drove Him outside of the city, and led Him up to (the) brow (of) the hill on which their city had-been-built SO-AS TO-THROW HIM DOWN-THE-CLIFF. BUT HE, HAVING-GONE THROUGH (THE) MIDDLE (OF) THEM, WAS-PROCEEDING" (Luke 4:28-30).


John 6:

It is written that "Jesus, having-known that THEY-WERE-ABOUT TO-COME AND TAKE HIM AWAY-BY-FORCE in-order-that they-might-make Him king, WITHDREW AGAIN TO THE MOUNTAIN, Himself alone" (John 6:15).

It is mentioned here specifically that they were seeking to "make Him king" (John 6:15).

John 7:

It is written about Jesus that "THEY-WERE-SEEKING TO-SEIZE HIMAND NO-ONE PUT (HIS) HAND ON HIM, BECAUSE HIS HOUR HAD NOT-YET COME" (John 7:30).


John 8:

It is written about Jesus that "He-spoke in the treasury, (while) teaching in the temple. And NO-ONE SEIZED HIMBECAUSE HIS HOUR HAD NOT-YET COME" (John 8:20), 

And later, after Jesus spoke "THEY-PICKED-UP STONES IN-ORDER-THAT THEY-MIGHT-THROW (THEM) AT HIM. BUT JESUS WAS-HIDDEN, AND WENT-OUT OF THE TEMPLE" (John 8:59).


John 10:

It is written about Jesus that after He spoke "THE JEWS AGAIN CARRIED STONES IN-ORDER-THAT THEY-MIGHT-STONE HIM. JESUS RESPONDED (TO) THEM, “I-showed you many good works from the Father. For which work (of) them do-you-stone Me?”" (John 10:31-32), "THEN THEY-WERE-SEEKING AGAIN TO-SEIZE HIM, AND HE-WENT-OUT OF THEIR HAND" (John 10:39).


John 16:

Jesus said to His disciples: "(an) hour is-coming for everyone HAVING-KILLED YOU TO-THINK (THAT HE) IS-OFFERING SERVICE (TO) GOD" (John 16:2).


John 18:

When Jesus was questioned after His arrest, "Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. IF MY KINGDOM WERE OF THIS WORLDMY ATTENDANTS WOULD-BE-FIGHTING IN-ORDER-THAT I-MIGHT NOT BE-HANDED-OVER (TO) THE JEWSBUT as-it-is, My kingdom is not from-here”." (John 18:36).

Jesus mentioned here His "kingdom" which is not of this world.

Acts 24:

When Paul was debating Jews, it is written that "THE JEWS ALSO JOINED-IN-THE-ATTACK, ASSERTING (that) these (things) hold so. AND PAUL RESPONDED, the governor having-nodded (to) him to-speak, “Knowing-about you being (a) judge (to) this nation for many years, I CHEERFULLY SPEAK-A-DEFENSE (as to) the (things) concerning myself" (Acts 24:9-10).


Romans 6:

Paul wrote: "do not let sin be-reigning in your dying body so that (you are) obeying its desires, nor be-presenting YOUR BODY-PARTS (to) sin (AS) WEAPONS (OF) UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. But present yourselves (to) God as-if being-alive from (the) dead (ones), and YOUR BODY-PARTS (to) God (AS) WEAPONS (OF) RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Romans 6:12-13).


Romans 7:

Paul wrote: "I-am rejoicing-with the Law (of) God according-to the inner person. But I-am-seeing (a) different LAW IN MY BODY-PARTS WAGING-WAR-AGAINST THE LAW (OF) MY MIND, and taking me captive under the law (of) sin existing in my body-parts" (Romans 7:22-23).


1 Corinthians 9:

Paul wrote: "If (to) others I-am not (an) apostle, yet indeed I-am (to) you. For you are the seal (of) my apostleship in (the) Lord, THIS IS MY DEFENSE (to) the (ones) examining me!" (1 Corinthians 9:2-3).


2 Corinthians 10:

Paul wrote: "(though) walking in (the) flesh, WE-ARE NOT (SERVING-AS-SOLDIER-IN-A)-HOST IN-ACCORDANCE-WITH (THE) FLESH. FOR THE WEAPONS (OF) OUR WARFARE (ARE) NOT FLESHY, but powerful (in) God for (the) tearing-down (of) fortresses. (We are) tearing-down considerations and every height being-raised-up against the knowledge (of) God, and taking-captive every thought to the obedience (of) Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).


Ephesians 6:

Paul wrote: "Put-on the full-armor (of) God so-that you (may) be-able to-stand against the schemes (of) the devil, because THE WRESTLING (FOR) US IS NOT AGAINST BLOOD AND FLESH, BUT against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world-powers (of) this darkness, AGAINST THE SPIRITUAL (FORCES OF) EVILNESS IN THE HEAVENLY(-PLACES). For this reason, take-up the full-armor (of) God in-order-that you-may-be-able to-resist in the evil day, and having-worked everything, to-stand. Stand (firm) therefore, having-girded your waist with truth, and having-put-on the breastplate (of) righteousness, and having-sandaled (your) feet with (the) readiness (of) the good-news (of) peace, with all (these) having-taken-up the shield (of) faith with which you-will-be-able to-quench all the flaming arrows (of) the evil (one). And take the helmet (of) salvation, and the sword (of) the Spirit, which is (the) Word (of) God, praying with every(-kind-of) prayer and petition at every opportunity in (the) Spirit, and being-sleepless for it with all perseverance and petition concerning all the holy (ones)" (Ephesians 6:11-18).


Philippians 1:

Paul wrote: "just-as it-is right (for) me to-think this about you all because-of my having you in (my) heart, both in my imprisonment and in THE DEFENSE and confirmation (OF) THE GOOD-NEWS" (Philippians 1:7) and Paul wrote: "I-am-appointed for THE DEFENSE (OF) THE GOOD-NEWS" (Philippians 1:17).


James 4:

James wrote: "From-what-source (are) fights and from-what-source (are) battles among you? (Are they) not from-here, from YOUR PLEASURES (SERVING-AS-SOLDIERS-IN-A)-HOST IN YOUR BODY-PARTS?" (James 4:1).


1 Peter 2:

Peter wrote: "I-exhort (you) as foreigners and pilgrims TO-BE-ABSTAINING (FROM) FLESHLY DESIRES WHICH (SERVE-AS-SOLDIERS-IN-A)-HOST AGAINST THE SOUL" (1 Peter 2:11).


1 Peter 3:

Peter wrote: "set (the) Lord Christ apart in your hearts, (BEING) READY ALWAYS FOR (A) DEFENSE (to) everyone asking you (A) REASON for the hope in you, but with gentleness and fear, having (a) good conscience" (1 Peter 3:15-16).
